What they need
Position Summary
We are seeking skilled and reliable Maintenance Technicians to join our advanced production team. This role is responsible for keeping automated manufacturing and packaging equipment running safely, reliably, and efficiently through preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance. Maintenance Technicians troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems, support the installation and commissioning of new machinery, and document maintenance activity to build long-term equipment reliability. Due to the start-up nature of this position, the Maintenance Technician may be required to support Production Operations as required.
This role is structured to support multiple skill levels (Maintenance Technician I, II, and III), with responsibilities and expectations increasing based on experience and demonstrated capability. Each level builds on the one below it: a Level 2 Technician is expected to perform all Level 1 responsibilities, and a Level 3 Technician all Level 1 and Level 2 responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production and packaging equipment
- Inspect and monitor equipment condition to identify issues before they cause unplanned downtime
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems at the level assigned
- Diagnose issues involving HMI interfaces, sensors and actuators, conveyors, vision systems, robotic arms, and heat shrink equipment
- Use hand tools, multimeters, diagnostic equipment, schematics, and control diagrams to isolate and correct faults
- Support the installation, setup, and commissioning of new automated machinery and system expansions
- Record maintenance actions, parts used, and repair details in the CMMS or digital maintenance logs
- Escalate abnormal equipment behavior, recurring failures, and safety concerns promptly
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with safety and 5S standards
- Follow all company safety, environmental, and quality policies and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Work collaboratively with operators, supervisors, engineering, and production leadership to meet uptime and output goals
Skill Level DefinitionsMaintenance Technician – Level 1
Entry / Developing Technician
- Performs routine preventive maintenance tasks following established PM checklists and work instructions
- Assists senior technicians with repairs, changeovers, and equipment installations
- Performs basic mechanical work: lubrication, belt and chain inspection, fastener torquing, filter and wear-part replacement
- Performs routine equipment inspections and reports abnormal conditions accurately
- Uses HMI screens to read alarms and fault codes and reports them accurately
- Uses hand tools and basic measuring instruments safely and correctly
- Completes work orders and maintenance documentation in the CMMS accurately and on time
- Follows lockout/tagout (LOTO) and all machine-specific safety procedures without exception
- Actively participates in training and skill development toward Level 2 competencies
- Typically has 0–2 years of industrial maintenance or equipment operation experience
Maintenance Technician – Level 2
Experienced / Independent Technician — performs all Level 1 responsibilities, plus:
- Independently diagnoses and repairs mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic faults on assigned equipment
- Executes the full PM program on assigned systems with minimal oversight, including mid-level tasks such as belt tensioning, alignment, bearing replacement, and sensor calibration
- Interprets electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and system layouts to trace and isolate faults
- Troubleshoots HMI-reported faults, sensors and actuators, conveyors, and pneumatic circuits to root cause
- Uses multimeters and diagnostic equipment to test circuits, motors, and control components
- Responds to production downtime events and restores equipment to running condition efficiently
- Supports installation and mechanical setup of new equipment under engineering direction
- Identifies recurring failure modes and recommends PM or spare-parts changes to address them
- Provides on-the-job guidance to Level 1 technicians and operators
- Typically has 2–4 years of industrial or automation maintenance experience
Maintenance Technician – Level 3
