Maintenance Technician

Position: Maintenance Technician (Traveling Contract)

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Traveling Maintenance Technician to support maintenance operations at a meat processing facility. This is a hands-on contract position responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production equipment to maximize uptime and ensure safe operations.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on production machinery.
• Diagnose issues with motors, conveyors, pumps, sensors, PLC-controlled equipment, and pneumatic systems.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and complete repairs in a timely manner.
• Complete maintenance documentation accurately.
• Follow all plant safety, food safety, and GMP requirements.
• Work effectively with production and maintenance teams to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Experience in a food and beverage bottling environment
• Strong mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Willingness and ability to travel to the assigned project location.
• Must have reliable transportation and the ability to pass required pre-employment screenings.

Preferred Experience

• PLC troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar)
• VFDs, motors, and control systems
• Conveyors, packaging equipment, and automated production lines
• Preventative maintenance programs

Employment Type

• Competitive hourly pay
• Travel expenses and per diem may be provided, when applicable.

Pay: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour
