Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain a variety of heavy and light machinery and equipment within a manufacturing environment.
• Conduct repairs and maintenance for buildings and grounds.
• Ensure the quality and productivity of equipment.
• Provide a safe and healthy workplace.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

• Safety First: Achieve a high standard of machine and facility safety while ensuring OSHA compliance.
• Monitoring: Daily oversight of equipment, buildings, and grounds.
• Quality Operations: Maintain equipment to ensure high levels of quality and productivity.
• Maintenance: Perform periodic maintenance and planned repairs.
• Breakdown Response: Address breakdowns and time constraints promptly and effectively.
• Organization: Keep the maintenance shop orderly.
• Assessment: Identify needs and recommend repairs or replacements.
• Collaboration: Work closely with all machine and forklift operators.
• Planning: Meet and coordinate with management as required.

Maintenance Skills:

Including but not limited to:

• Electrical Knowledge: Experience with high voltage 480V, three-phase electricity, and low voltage electricity for equipment installation and troubleshooting.
• Wiring Expertise: Proficient in electrical wiring and maintaining equipment control panels and switches.
• Fabrication Skills: Experience in metal fabrication and welding is desirable.
• Control Systems: Familiarity with programmable controls and electronic logic systems.
• Hydraulic Systems: Knowledge of compressors, hydraulic motors, hoses, and couplings.
• Drive Systems: Proficiency with bearings and drive systems.
• Carpentry Skills: Basic carpentry knowledge.

Capabilities:

Including but not limited to:

• Driving Skills: Ability to operate a forklift and pick-up truck.
• Climbing: Comfortable climbing ladders.
• Tool Operation: Proficient in using various hand tools and power tools.
• Project Management: Capable of planning and managing jobs and projects effectively.
• Communication: Strong verbal communication skills, with abilities in process improvement, organization, multitasking, problem-solving, presenting technical information, analyzing data, and making decisions.

Ability to Commute/Relocate:

• Location: Palmerton, PA – Reliable commute or planning to relocate before starting work is required.

Experience:

• Mechanical Knowledge: 3 years (required)
• Electrical Wiring & High Voltage: 2 years (required)
• Repair of Industrial Process Equipment: 2 years (required)

Pay: $30.69 - $32.53 per hour
