Maintenance Technician

Facilities Services Group

Assigned Medical Office Buildings

At Cornerstone Companies, Inc., we know that exceptional healthcare environments don't happen by accident—they're built and maintained by skilled professionals who take pride in their work.

For more than 35 years, we've supported growing healthcare organizations across 22 states by providing exceptional property management and facilities services. Our Maintenance Technicians are trusted partners who help ensure medical office buildings remain safe, reliable, and ready to support patient care every day.

We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to oversee the maintenance and daily operation of one or more assigned medical office buildings. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, working independently, building relationships with tenants, and taking ownership of the facilities they maintain.

If you enjoy seeing the direct impact of your work, take pride in keeping buildings operating at their best, and understand that every repair contributes to a better patient experience, we'd love to meet you.

Why Cornerstone?

Our culture is guided by values that show up in real decisions—not just posters on the wall.

Caring

We create safe, comfortable environments for patients, tenants, physicians, and healthcare providers. Every repair, inspection, and preventive maintenance task supports the people delivering care.

Creative

We solve problems with practical thinking and proactive maintenance that prevents issues before they become emergencies.

Character

We lead with integrity, accountability, and professionalism. We do the right thing, communicate openly, and take ownership of the buildings entrusted to our care.

At Cornerstone, maintenance isn't simply about fixing what's broken. It's about protecting critical healthcare environments where people work, heal, and care for others.

About the Role

As a Maintenance Technician, you'll serve as the primary maintenance professional for your assigned medical office building(s), ensuring they remain safe, clean, compliant, and operating efficiently.

You'll perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot building systems, coordinate specialized repairs when needed, and build strong working relationships with tenants, property management, and vendors. Your attention to detail and proactive approach help prevent disruptions while creating an exceptional experience for everyone who enters the building.

You may also participate in an after-hours on-call rotation to support emergency maintenance needs.

Key Responsibilities

You'll be responsible for:

  • Performing preventive maintenance and routine building inspections
  • Diagnosing and repairing HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and building systems
  • Responding to tenant maintenance requests and comfort calls
  • Maintaining generators, fire protection systems, and other critical infrastructure
  • Ensuring compliance with safety regulations, life safety standards, and building codes
  • Coordinating outside contractors for specialized repairs and preventive maintenance
  • Maintaining maintenance records, inspection documentation, and work orders
  • Ordering maintenance materials and managing inventory
  • Keeping mechanical rooms, storage areas, grounds, and common areas clean and organized
  • Helping create a safe, professional environment for patients, visitors, and healthcare providers

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who has:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 3 years of facilities maintenance experience
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building systems
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • The ability to work independently while collaborating with property management, vendors, and tenants
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel between assigned buildings as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or building maintenance certification
  • Healthcare or medical office building maintenance experience
  • Additional trade certifications
  • Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)

Why You'll Love Working Here

At Cornerstone, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Take ownership of buildings that truly matter to the communities they serve.
  • Work for a stable, growing company with more than 35 years of success.
  • Build lasting relationships with tenants and healthcare providers.
  • Enjoy meaningful, hands-on work where no two days are exactly alike.
  • Be part of a collaborative team that values safety, professionalism, and continuous improvement.

Because when we create a better experience, we help make better care possible.
