National Plastek Inc. is looking for a self-motivated Maintenance Technician to join our team. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys troubleshooting equipment, and is willing to learn and grow with the company.

This is a hands-on position in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is dependable, mechanically inclined, comfortable working independently, and able to work closely with our production team to keep equipment running safely and efficiently.

What You'll Do

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production equipment and machinery
  • Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and minimize production downtime
  • Perform both scheduled and emergency maintenance
  • Assist with equipment installations, modifications, and improvements
  • Troubleshoot motors, drives, sensors, controls, and other electrical components
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and communicate equipment issues to management
  • Help identify recurring equipment problems and develop solutions to prevent future failures
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Work closely with production and management to keep operations running efficiently
  • Follow all company safety procedures and guidelines

Required Skills

  • Ability to diagnose equipment problems and determine appropriate repairs
  • Ability to use common hand and power tools
  • Ability to read and understand basic mechanical and electrical diagrams
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Willingness and ability to learn new equipment and processes
  • Commitment to working safely

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Previous maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with industrial machinery or production equipment
  • Electrical troubleshooting and controls experience
  • Experience with PLCs and automated equipment
  • Experience with motors, VFDs, sensors, and electrical components
  • Experience with pneumatics and hydraulics
  • Welding and fabrication experience
  • Experience performing preventative maintenance
  • Experience troubleshooting extrusion or converting equipment
  • Experience with mechanical drives, gearboxes, bearings, belts, chains, and similar components
  • Technical degree, trade school, apprenticeship, or relevant certifications

We are willing to train the right person. If you have strong mechanical aptitude, a good work ethic, and the desire to learn, we encourage you to apply even if you don't meet every preferred qualification.

Why Join National Plastek?

At National Plastek, you'll have the opportunity to work hands-on with a variety of industrial equipment while developing your maintenance skills. We are looking for someone who wants to become a valuable part of our team—not simply someone who wants to punch a clock.
