Maintenance Technician A

Hourly Rate: $20- $24 per hour.

Responsibilities:

• Provide emergency on scheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
• Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
• Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
• Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
• Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment to include operating forklifts in performing duties.
• Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those in any unusual situations to proper supervision.
• Comply with safety regulations and environmental regulations, maintain clear and orderly worked areas.
• Perform other related duties as needed or assigned.

Experience and Skill Requirements:·

• Welding experience is highly prefered.
• Electrical knowledge is a plus.
• Attention to detail to ensure that all jobs are completed in an exemplary manner and any potential hazards or warning signs of problems are not overlooked.
• Interpersonal skills to interact with employees or residents of the building in a pleasant manner.
• Understand basic electrical wiring and diagrams to include troubleshooting and basic repair of electrical problems.
• Strong problem solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices.
• Experience with hardware tools and electrical equipment.
• Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic and other systems.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to wear personal protective gear most of the day.
• Must be able to see and respond to dangerous situations.
• Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move 50 pounds occasionally.
• Must be able to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds, stairs, and work in confined spaces and in proximity to loud equipment.
• Must be able to respond quickly to sounds.
• Must be able to work in cold/hot environments and on concrete floors.
• Balancing: Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces.
• Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position.
• The worker is required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment.

Working Conditions:

• The worker is required to function in narrow aisles or passageways.
• The worker is subject to atmospheric conditions: One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system: Fumes, odors, dust, mist, gases, or poor ventilation.
• The worker is subject to fluids: There is air and/or skin exposure to oils and other fluids
• The worker is required to wear a respirator.
• The worker is subject to both environmental conditions: Activities occur inside and outside.
