MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Location: Kings Mountain, North Carolina Employment Type: Full-Time Pay: $20.00-23.00 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY

Kings mountain redevelopment commission is seeking a dependable and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing apartments, buildings, grounds, and equipment while providing professional and courteous service to residents.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

o Respond to resident maintenance requests and work orders.

o Perform general repairs involving plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, drywall, flooring, appliances.

o Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections.

o Prepare vacant units for new residents.

o Maintain common areas, grounds, tools, and equipment.

o Respond to maintenance emergencies as needed.

o Maintain accurate work-order and maintenance records.

o Follow safety procedures, policies, and applicable regulations.

o Provide professional and respectful service to residents and coworkers.

o Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

o High school diploma or GED preferred.

o Previous experience in property, apartment, building, or general maintenance preferred.

o Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, and general repair practices.

o Ability to safely use hand and power tools.

o Good communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

o Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

o Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

o Must be able to pass required background screening and drug test.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The position requires the ability to lift and carry materials, climb ladders, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
