- Assist the Building Engineer with HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other building-system needs.
- Identify and escalate issues that may create safety risks, service interruptions, or significant repair costs.
- Maintain tools, supplies, equipment, and maintenance areas in a safe and organized condition.

- Communicate outstanding or urgent maintenance concerns to the Building Engineer.
Facility Safety & Readiness
- Identify and report unsafe conditions, equipment failures, leaks, water intrusion, temperature issues, property damage, and other facility concerns.
- Follow appropriate safety practices when using tools, ladders, equipment, chemicals, and personal protective equipment.
- Support facility response to weather events, equipment failures, emergency cleanup, and other unexpected conditions.
- Help ensure program, event, and public spaces are operationally ready for use.
Grounds & Event Support
- Perform light grounds maintenance, seasonal cleanup, and snow and ice support as needed.
- Maintain entrances, walkways, exterior areas, loading areas, and surrounding property.
- Support setup and breakdown for programs, rentals, camps, tournaments, meetings, and special events.
- Move furniture, equipment, and supplies safely as needed.
- Provide additional facilities support during high-volume events, deep-cleaning projects, or other operational needs.

- Assist with vendor, contractor, and service-provider access as directed by the Building Engineer.
- Communicate relevant maintenance conditions or service needs to vendors and contractors.
- Work collaboratively with Facilities Attendants and other Operations staff to maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.
- Perform other facilities-related duties consistent with the responsibilities of the position.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Relevant experience in building maintenance, facilities operations, property maintenance, construction, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of basic maintenance and repair practices.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to use common hand and power tools safely.
- Ability to identify issues, complete basic troubleshooting, and escalate concerns appropriately.
- Basic computer or mobile-device proficiency for email and work-order systems.
- Strong reliability, communication, organization, and follow-through.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, youth-serving environment.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, or emergencies based on operational needs.
