Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and optimizing production equipment, facility systems, and utilities to ensure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted manufacturing operations.

The successful candidate will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, respond to equipment breakdowns, support equipment changeovers and installations, and maintain accurate maintenance records while complying with company policies, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and applicable health and safety regulations.

Straight shifts (morning or afternoon).

Key Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues to minimize equipment downtime.
• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production equipment and facility systems.
• Repair and maintain sauce processing equipment, including mixing tanks, kettles, agitators, pumps, valves, piping systems, heat exchangers, and transfer systems.
• Maintain filling, capping, sealing, labeling, conveying, and packaging equipment.
• Inspect equipment for wear, leaks, misalignment, vibration, and other potential issues.
• Assist with equipment installation, modification, commissioning, and improvement projects.
• Ensure all equipment is properly reassembled, tested, and safe for operation following maintenance work.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), sanitation procedures, and applicable food safety requirements at all times.
• Follow all company health and safety policies, procedures, and applicable occupational health and safety regulations.
• Apply lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures before performing maintenance on equipment.
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices.
• Identify and report workplace hazards, unsafe equipment conditions, and potential risks.
• Perform hot work, electrical work, confined-space work, and other specialized tasks only when trained and authorized.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance workshop and work area.
• Work closely with Production Supervisors and Operators to identify equipment issues and improve operating performance.
• Support production line changeovers, equipment adjustments, and startup activities as needed.
• Assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring equipment failures.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Technical diploma, certificate, or equivalent training in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, or a related field.
• Previous experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in food manufacturing or another regulated manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of mechanical systems, pumps, motors, gearboxes, bearings, valves, and conveyor systems.
• Basic knowledge of electrical systems, sensors, pneumatic controls, and industrial automation.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and equipment troubleshooting techniques.
• Familiarity with GMP, sanitation practices, food safety requirements, and workplace safety procedures.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced production environment.
