What they need
MAINTENANCE TECHNICIANS — WE WANT YOU!
Join SOPREMA in La Grange, Georgia!
Are you the person everyone calls when a machine stops running? Do you enjoy troubleshooting, solving complex mechanical problems, and keeping production moving? We’re looking for skilled Maintenance Technicians who take pride in their work, value safety, and know how to keep industrial equipment running reliably.
At SOPREMA, your technical skills make a real difference. You’ll help maintain critical production equipment, minimize downtime, improve reliability, and support a team that depends on your expertise.
We’re hiring FOUR Maintenance Technicians! Two day and two night technicians. If you’re ready to put your skills to work in a manufacturing environment where reliability matters, we want to hear from you.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
You’ll be hands-on with the equipment and systems that keep our facility running.
- Troubleshoot and repair: Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, thermal, and automated equipment issues.
- Keep production moving: Respond to equipment breakdowns, minimize downtime, and support production line startups, shutdowns, changeovers, and adjustments.
- Prevent problems before they happen: Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance and identify potential equipment failures before they disrupt production.
- Work with industrial equipment: Maintain extrusion lines, downstream equipment, facility systems, utilities, recycling systems, regrind, and material handling equipment.
- Improve reliability: Participate in root cause investigations, recommend improvements, and help prevent recurring equipment failures.
- Work as a team: Partner with Production and other departments to improve equipment performance, product quality, and operational efficiency.
- Document your work: Maintain accurate work orders, repairs, inspections, equipment histories, and spare parts records using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Put safety first: Follow company safety procedures, lockout/tagout (LOTO) requirements, and PPE standards every day.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We want technicians who bring technical knowledge, a problem-solving mindset, and a strong sense of responsibility.
Minimum qualifications:
- 5+ years of maintenance experience.
- Technical degree, diploma, or certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Electromechanics, Electrical Technology, or a related field—or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose equipment problems efficiently.
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics, equipment manuals, and related documentation.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and following established procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with Production and other support teams.
- Ability to use computers and maintenance software to document work accurately.
Preferred qualifications:
- Electrical certification or license.
- Industrial manufacturing maintenance experience.
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THIS ROLE
You take ownership of problems instead of walking past them. You understand that equipment reliability affects the entire operation. You work with a sense of urgency, stay focused under pressure, and take pride in doing the job safely and correctly.
If you enjoy figuring out how things work, finding the root cause of a problem, and making equipment perform better, this could be the opportunity you’ve been looking for.
THE WORK ENVIRONMENT
This is a hands-on industrial maintenance position in a manufacturing facility. The work may involve exposure to moving machinery, noise, heat, and changing temperatures, along with frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, and lifting tools or equipment. Working at heights, in confined spaces, and outdoors may occasionally be required. Overtime and emergency maintenance callouts may also be necessary.
