Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician to join our team at a busy apartment community in Canton. This role is responsible for maintaining the property’s physical condition, completing work orders, and ensuring a safe, comfortable living environment for our residents.

The ideal candidate has hands-on maintenance experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and takes pride in delivering quality service. HVAC experience is a plus, but not required.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances, and general repairs
• Respond promptly and professionally to resident service requests and work orders
• Conduct regular property inspections to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns
• Prepare apartments for new move-ins, including turnovers, repairs, and inspections
• Maintain an organized maintenance shop, tools, and inventory
• Ensure proper operation of building systems and common areas
• Work closely with management to schedule and complete preventive maintenance
• Follow all safety procedures and comply with local codes and regulations
• Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency maintenance as needed

Qualifications

• Previous apartment maintenance or related experience preferred
• Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance
• HVAC experience is a bonus
• Ability to diagnose and repair issues efficiently and safely
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks
• Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends if needed
