Job Description – Maintenance Engineer / Technician

1. Job Purpose

To ensure the smooth and efficient operation of VESTELTEX and Lectra machines by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical faults, and minimizing machine downtime.

2. Key Skills Required

• Mechanical Maintenance: Knowledge of motors, bearings, belts, pulleys, gearboxes, pneumatic systems, and mechanical assemblies.
• Electrical Maintenance: Ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits, motors, sensors, relays, contactors, and control panels.
• Machine-Specific Knowledge: Practical experience in maintaining VESTELTEX textile machinery and Lectra automated fabric spreading and cutting machines is preferred.
• Troubleshooting: Ability to identify machine breakdowns, analyse root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• PLC and Automation: Basic knowledge of PLCs, servo motors, drives, sensors, and automation systems.
• Preventive Maintenance: Ability to prepare and execute preventive maintenance schedules and maintain service records.
• Pneumatics and Hydraulics: Understanding of pneumatic cylinders, valves, air compressors, and related systems.
• Safety Compliance: Knowledge of electrical safety, lockout/tagout (LOTO), machine guarding, and workplace safety procedures.

3. Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of VESTELTEX and Lectra machines.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, and automation-related faults.
• Ensure minimum machine downtime and maximum equipment availability.
• Inspect and maintain motors, sensors, belts, bearings, drives, and other critical components.
• Coordinate with machine suppliers and service engineers for complex technical issues.
• Maintain breakdown reports, maintenance checklists, spare-parts records, and equipment history.
• Support machine installation, commissioning, calibration, and performance improvement activities.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintenance procedures.
• Coordinate with production teams to plan maintenance without affecting production schedules.

4. Educational Qualification

• Diploma or ITI in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics.
• Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or Mechanical Engineering is preferred.

5. Essential Candidate Requirements

• 3–5 years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience in textile, garment, fabric spreading, or automated cutting machinery is preferred.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate with production teams.

Preferred: Candidates with direct experience in VESTELTEX and Lectra machine maintenance will be given priority.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
