Maintenance Technician

Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team and ensure the optimal operation of our facilities and equipment. In this energetic role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems. Your expertise will help keep our environment safe, efficient, and comfortable for all staff and visitors. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your technical knowledge in a fast-paced setting while delivering exceptional service and support.

Responsibilities

• Assist with maintaining buildings and grounds through repairs and preventative maintenance
• Monitor & replace light fixture lamps and ballasts as needed
• Perform minor electrical & plumbing work as necessary
• Ability to perform general repair and handyman tasks
• Basic skills in wall repair and painting
• Proficient carpentry skills desired, but not a requirement
• Knowledge of HVAC equipment desired, but not a requirement
• Perform other maintenance duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager

Qualifications

Skills

• Must be able to effectively communicate (oral & written) with all church employees, members, contractors, & vendors
• Ability to speak English (primary) & Spanish (secondary) is highly encouraged
• Self-Starter & Team Player a must
• Basic computer, email, database, and word processing skills

Knowledge

• High School, College, and/or Technical School degree or certification highly encouraged
• Must have a basic understanding of how facilities operate
• Understanding of how church’s operate encouraged, but not a requirement
• Understand & follow oral & written instructions
• Ability to prioritize and manage multifunctional tasks
• Ability to work effectively under pressure, and against time constraints
• Ability to use standard powered and un-powered tools

Working Conditions

• Be able to walk, bend, stoop, balance, crawl and reach for extended periods of time
• Must be able to utilize a computer, tablet, or smart phone
• Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds
• Must be comfortable working off ladders, scaffolding, and aerial lifts
• Must be able to work independently without supervision
• Must maintain proper hygiene & cleanliness
• Must have a valid Drivers License and reliable means of transportation to work
• Must pass a background check and complete church required Safe Sanctuary Training

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
