Working Hours: 45 hours per week, across 5.5 days. Flexibility is required to respond to urgent maintenance needs outside normal working hours.

About the Role

F2F Food Company is looking for a reliable, hands-on Maintenance Technician to carry out general maintenance, minor repairs and groundskeeping across our facilities.

You will maintain indoor and outdoor areas, complete planned preventative maintenance and respond to urgent repair requests. The role also includes supervising the Outdoor Cleaner and providing occasional logistical support for outdoor catering and functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and minor repairs, including basic plumbing, carpentry, painting and fixture repairs, within your skills and competency.
• Conduct daily site inspections to identify repair needs and safety hazards.
• Maintain gardens and grounds, including grass cutting, hedge trimming, weeding and clearing litter.
• Plan and prioritise daily tasks across multiple sites.
• Complete planned preventative maintenance according to the monthly schedule.
• Respond promptly to leaks, blockages, breakages and other urgent maintenance requests.
• Log and update maintenance tasks on the Entercom system, keeping accurate records of progress and completed work.
• Provide daily progress updates and weekly job status reports to the Production Manager.
• Identify repairs requiring specialist contractors and follow the approved quotation process, including obtaining three quotes where required.
• Coordinate contractor access and scheduling, and verify completed work.
• Maintain tools, equipment and maintenance stock records, reporting shortages or damaged items.
• Allocate tasks to the Outdoor Cleaner and oversee assigned maintenance staff.
• Follow food safety, hygiene and health and safety requirements during all maintenance activities.
• Assist with equipment transport, set-up and breakdown for occasional outdoor catering events and functions.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a general maintenance or handyman role, preferably in food production, hospitality or a commercial facility.
• Practical skills in basic plumbing, carpentry, painting and general repairs.
• Experience with gardening and groundskeeping.
• Ability to prioritise work across multiple sites and work independently.
• Basic literacy and numeracy to maintain task logs, schedules and stock records.
• Understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements, or willingness to undergo training.
• A reliable, honest and safety-conscious approach.
• Ability to recognise when work requires specialist expertise and escalate it appropriately.

Advantageous

• A valid driver’s licence.
• Experience using Entercom or another computerised maintenance logging system.
• Basic stocktaking and inventory control experience.
• Experience supervising or coordinating a small team.
