Maintenance Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and versatile Part Time Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic facilities team. Duties

• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on building systems including electrical equipment, HVAC units, plumbing systems, and facilities equipment.
• Repair and troubleshoot electrical issues using schematics, ohmmeters, and electrical tools to ensure systems operate safely and efficiently.
• Conduct plumbing repairs such as fixing leaks, maintaining plumbing systems, and replacing fixtures as needed.
• Carry out carpentry tasks including repairs to interior structures, maintenance painting, and general woodworking projects.
• Utilize hand tools and power tools to complete maintenance tasks accurately and safely.
• Maintain facility interior spaces by performing painting, drywall repairs, and other cosmetic updates to enhance the environment.
• Assist with HVAC system repair and routine servicing to keep climate control systems functioning optimally.
• Read schematics and technical manuals to diagnose issues accurately; document all maintenance activities thoroughly.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing maintenance requests promptly and professionally from staff or residents.
• Support maintenance operations by managing parts inventory related to MRO (maintenance, repair & operations) supplies.

Experience

• Knowledge of electrical work including troubleshooting electrical circuits and repairing electrical equipment.
• Hands-on experience with plumbing system maintenance and repair techniques.
• Familiarity with HVAC systems including repair, troubleshooting, and routine servicing.
• Ability to read schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams confidently.
• Skilled in using hand tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers, as well as specialized tools like ohmmeters for electrical testing.
• Strong understanding of building interior maintenance including painting and carpentry projects.
• Excellent communication skills in English for clear documentation and customer interactions.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
• Leadership qualities are desirable for supporting team efforts or mentoring less experienced staff.
