NOW HIRING – PROPERTY MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Cook's Family Businesses is seeking an experienced, dependable, and well-rounded Property Maintenance Technician to maintain our growing portfolio of commercial and residential properties throughout the Altoona area.

This is a full-time, internal maintenance position working exclusively on company-owned properties. No outside customers or third-party service calls.

Job Responsibilities

• General maintenance and repairs of commercial and residential properties
• Apartment turnovers, renovations, and preparation for new tenants
• Plumbing repairs, including faucets, toilets, leaks, drains, and fixtures
• General electrical troubleshooting, lighting, outlets, switches, and fixture repairs
• Basic HVAC troubleshooting, maintenance, and minor repairs
• Roofing repairs, leak identification, and preventative maintenance
• Drywall repairs, painting, flooring, and finish carpentry
• Property cleanouts, debris removal, and general property upkeep
• Door, lock, cabinet, window, and hardware repairs
• Routine inspections and preventative building maintenance
• Troubleshooting and resolving maintenance issues independently

All regulated trade work must be performed within applicable licensing and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in property maintenance, construction, or related trades
• Strong general knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and building repairs
• Ability to work independently and efficiently
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Dependable, organized, and self-motivated
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Ability to safely operate power tools, ladders, and maintenance equipment

Who We're Looking For

We are looking for a jack-of-all-trades maintenance professional who is comfortable handling a variety of tasks.

One day may involve completing an apartment turnover, while another may include repairing a roof leak, troubleshooting plumbing, or performing maintenance in one of our commercial buildings.

The ideal candidate takes pride in their workmanship, can identify and solve problems without constant supervision, and understands the importance of maintaining properties to a high standard.

• Pay: $22–$24 per hour, based on experience
