Maintenance Technician

Overview

Southern Park Mall is seeking a dependable, skilled, and self-motivated Part-Time Maintenance Technician to assist with the general maintenance, repair, and upkeep of the shopping center, equipment, and surrounding property. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on maintenance experience, strong troubleshooting abilities, and the ability to work independently and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily property walk-throughs to inspect the interior and exterior of the mall. Check safety fixtures, public lighting, and mall amenities to ensure they are working properly.
• Complete basic, non-specialized repairs including minor plumbing (unclogging toilets, fixing leaks), simple electrical work (replacing light bulbs, ballasts), drywall patching, and painting.
• Assist mall management with setting up moving, or dismantling common area holiday decorations, visual displays, and event stages.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety across the exterior storefronts, entryways, and sidewalks. Perform basic seasonal tasks such as sidewalk ice/snow removal or minor debris cleanup as required.
• Adhere strictly to all OSHA safety regulations, building codes, and personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols. Maintain organized records or logs.
• Perform basic maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs on company vehicles and small power equipment. Maintain and troubleshoot ride-on floor sweeping and scrubbing machines.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 to 3 years of experience in general building maintenance, facilities maintenance, or a related field required.
• High School diploma or GED equivalent. Must have a valid driver's license and pass a standard background check.
• Hands-on experience with floor tile repair/replacement, painting, and general building repairs.
• Basic mechanical knowledge of vehicles, small power equipment, and commercial floor cleaning machines.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems with the ability to troubleshoot common issues.
• Ability to safely operate hand tools, ladders, and maintenance equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize assignments, and complete tasks efficiently.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to communicate effectively with management and co-workers.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods throughout the workday.
• Ability to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb ladders.
• Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Ability to perform maintenance duties in both indoor and outdoor environments, including varying weather conditions.

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25.0 – 30.0 per week
