Maintenance Technician

Job Summary

Hales Bar Marina & Resort is seeking an experienced, dependable, and hardworking Maintenance Technician to join our team.

We are looking for someone with proven, hands-on experience in general maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate is a skilled problem-solver who can work independently, recognize maintenance needs, and complete repairs efficiently without constant supervision.

Our property includes marina facilities, docks, floating cabins, and other resort amenities, providing a wide variety of maintenance responsibilities. No two days are the same!

This is a full-time position for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes initiative, and takes pride in keeping a busy marina and resort operating smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance, repairs, and upkeep throughout the marina and resort property.
• Diagnose and repair plumbing issues, including water lines, fixtures, and related systems.
• Perform basic electrical repairs and troubleshooting within applicable safety requirements.
• Complete carpentry projects, including repairs to doors, decking, docks, and other structures.
• Maintain and repair docks, floating cabins, buildings, and common areas.
• Perform pressure washing, groundskeeping, trash removal, and general property upkeep.
• Troubleshoot equipment and address maintenance issues as they arise.
• Assist with boats, equipment, seasonal preparations, and preventative maintenance.
• Identify potential maintenance problems and proactively recommend or complete necessary repairs.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
• Respond promptly to maintenance needs and work effectively with management and other team members.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Previous hands-on maintenance experience required.
• Demonstrated experience with plumbing, basic electrical work, carpentry, and general property repairs.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and complete projects with minimal supervision.
• Experience safely operating hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting 50 pounds or more.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions and on or around water.
• Reliable transportation and consistent attendance.
• Dependable, punctual, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
• Professional and friendly when interacting with guests and coworkers.
• Previous marina, resort, construction, or property maintenance experience is a plus.
• Verifiable work experience and professional references required.

Compensation & Schedule

• Employment Type: Full-Time
• Compensation: Pay based on demonstrated skills, qualifications, and experience.
• Work Environment: Active waterfront marina and resort with a variety of indoor and outdoor maintenance responsibilities.

Pay: From $16.00 per hour
