Maintenance Technician

About Us
Our home in Wallasey is a welcoming care home that provides a safe, comfortable and homely environment for our residents. We are looking for a reliable and practical Maintenance Technician to help keep our home in excellent condition.

The Role
You will be responsible for the general upkeep and safety of the building and grounds, so that residents, visitors and staff always have a safe and pleasant environment.

Hours
This is a permanent role of 30 or more hours per week.

Duties

• Carry out general repairs and maintenance, including plumbing, carpentry, painting and decorating
• Complete routine safety checks, including fire alarm tests, emergency lighting, water temperature checks and legionella flushing
• Keep accurate maintenance and compliance records
• Respond promptly to repair requests and urgent issues
• Maintain the garden, grounds and external areas
• Carry out minor repairs to furniture, doors, fixtures and fittings
• Follow health and safety standards at all times
• Liaise with external contractors when specialist work is required

Requirements

• Previous experience in maintenance, building repairs or a similar practical role
• Good general knowledge of DIY, plumbing, basic electrics and decorating
• An understanding of health and safety, ideally in a care or healthcare setting (preferred, not essential)
• The ability to work on your own initiative and stay organised
• A respectful manner when working around residents
• A full UK driving licence (desirable)

Pay: £13.75-£14.25 per hour
