Maintenance Technician - Commercial Greenhouse

Catoctin Mtn Growers is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician. The Maintenance team is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment and facilities throughout our commercial greenhouse operation.

The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, skilled with hand and power tools, and comfortable handling a variety of repairs, including basic plumbing, electrical, construction, and general maintenance. Welding and fabrication experience is a plus but not required.

This position reports to the Maintenance Manager and requires strong problem-solving skills, the ability to learn quickly, effective communication, and accurate documentation of work in our maintenance software.

Schedule:

• Full time
• 40 hours per week
• Monday-Friday

Key Responsibilities:

• Equipment Maintenance & Repair: Perform preventative maintenance, scheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on greenhouse equipment, machinery, and facility systems. Identify mechanical problems, replace worn or damaged components, and complete repairs to minimize equipment downtime. Assist with maintaining forklifts, production equipment, conveyors, irrigation systems, pumps, and other greenhouse infrastructure.
• Facility Maintenance & General Repairs: Perform a variety of general maintenance and construction-related tasks, including basic plumbing, minor electrical work, framing, carpentry, and facility repairs. Assist with welding and fabrication tasks when qualified. Safely and effectively use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment. Assist with facility improvements, equipment installations, and other maintenance projects as assigned.
• Preventative Maintenance & Work Order Management: Complete preventative maintenance and scheduled service tasks according to established procedures and maintenance schedules. Use CMG's computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to receive assignments, document completed work, track repairs, and communicate equipment issues. Identify potential maintenance concerns before they result in equipment failures.
• Communication, Safety & Continuous Improvement: Work closely with the Maintenance Manager and communicate effectively with Growing, Production, Shipping, and other departments to address maintenance needs. Follow company safety procedures, properly use tools and equipment, and maintain clean and organized work areas. Demonstrate a willingness to learn new skills, troubleshoot unfamiliar equipment, and identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and maintenance practices.

Pay: $23.00 - $30.00 per hour
