Maintenance Technician – CNC

Location: Rockford, Illinois

Salary: $73,000–$80,000 per year, depending on experience

Shift: Days, First shift, early finish on Fridays

About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician to maintain and troubleshoot CNC machinery and production equipment within a manufacturing environment. The primary focus is diagnosing equipment faults, performing mechanical and electrical repairs, and minimizing production downtime.

Key Responsibilities

Perform preventive and reactive maintenance on CNC machines and associated production equipment.

Diagnose CNC machine alarms and faults, using technical manuals to identify and resolve issues.

Troubleshoot electrical systems, wiring, motors, and machine components.

Carry out mechanical repairs, including replacing motors, pumps, belts, and other components.

Assist with machinery installation, relocation, and setup.

Identify recurring equipment issues and support improvements to machine reliability.

Technical Requirements

Approximately 7-10 years of hands-on CNC maintenance experience.

Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills in an industrial manufacturing environment.

Experience working with 110V and 220V electrical systems, including wiring and replacing electrical components.

Ability to diagnose CNC machine faults and restore equipment to operation.

Experience troubleshooting PLC-related faults.

Practical experience maintaining production machinery, with the ability to work independently and respond to breakdowns.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $78,000.00 per year
