Maintenance Technician- Electronics
Position Summary
The Maintenance Reliability Coordinator supports the Maintenance Manager in
developing, implementing, and sustaining an effective maintenance and reliability
program across the facility. This role combines coordination, technical support, and
structured follow-through to improve equipment uptime, reduce downtime, and
strengthen maintenance execution across production, processing, packaging,
warehouse, utility, and facility systems.
The position is responsible for coordinating preventive maintenance activities,
supporting equipment reliability improvement, managing spare parts and maintenance
records, coordinating vendors and contractors, and helping ensure operational
readiness for new equipment, line changes, and new product introductions. The role
also provides hands-on technical support as needed for troubleshooting, repairs, startup
activities, and facility upkeep in partnership with the Maintenance Manager and plant
operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintenance Program Coordination

  • Support the Maintenance Manager in building, organizing, and improving the site

maintenance program from the ground up.

  • Coordinate the development, scheduling, and execution of preventive maintenance

tasks across equipment, utilities, and facility assets.

  • Maintain maintenance schedules, task frequencies, asset records, service histories,

checklists, and work instructions.

  • Help establish structured maintenance routines for daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly,

and annual activities.

  • Track open maintenance actions and follow through to completion.

Preventive Maintenance and Reliability

  • Coordinate preventive and predictive maintenance activities to ensure work is

completed on time, documented correctly, and aligned with equipment criticality.

  • Support equipment condition monitoring and reliability efforts using appropriate tools

and methods such as inspections, trend review, vibration checks, thermal review, and
other predictive practices where applicable.

  • Monitor overdue PMs, recurring failures, chronic equipment issues, and repeat

downtime events.

  • Support root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions for breakdowns and

recurring mechanical or electrical issues.

  • Help improve asset reliability, extend equipment life, and reduce unplanned downtime.

Hands-On Technical Support

  • Provide hands-on support for troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical,

pneumatic, and hydraulic issues on production equipment and facility support systems
as needed.

  • Assist with diagnosis and repair of motors, drives, sensors, controls, pumps,

conveyors, bearings, gearboxes, valves, and related components.

  • Connect directly to PLCs and HMIs using applicable programming and diagnostic

software to review PLC logic, monitor inputs and outputs, trace alarms and interlocks,
troubleshoot equipment faults, and diagnose communication and control-related issues.

  • Perform hands-on troubleshooting of PLCs, HMIs, drives, sensors, I/O devices,

industrial communication networks, motor controls, and automation-related equipment.

  • Manage PLC and HMI program backups and perform controlled program changes,

testing, and documentation in accordance with company procedures.

  • Perform or support lubrication, parts replacement, alignment, calibration, inspection,

and other maintenance activities in accordance with manufacturer recommendations
and company procedures.

  • Support facility upkeep and maintenance tasks tied to building systems and

infrastructure when required. General repairs and facility maintenance activities are
secondary to equipment reliability, automation and controls support, preventive
maintenance, maintenance systems, and critical spare parts management.
Downtime, OEE, and Performance Improvement

  • Track equipment downtime and maintenance-related losses by line, area, and asset.
  • Support collection and analysis of maintenance data related to breakdowns, minor

stops, chronic losses, and recurring failures.

  • Work with Operations and Production leadership to identify trends and opportunities to

improve OEE through better maintenance planning and equipment reliability.

  • Help develop practical reports, summaries, and action lists that drive follow-up and

accountability.

  • Perform other projects and duties as assigned.

Spare Parts and Maintenance Inventory

  • Organize and maintain spare parts inventory for critical equipment and supporting

systems.

  • Help identify critical spare parts, minimum stock levels, reorder points, and

replacement priorities.

  • Track parts usage, availability, and open purchasing needs, and coordinate with

Purchasing to support timely replenishment.

  • Improve parts storage organization, labeling, equipment bills of material, and inventory

accuracy.
Vendor and Contractor Coordination

  • Coordinate outside vendors, contractors, and service providers performing

maintenance, repair, calibration, installation, and project work.

  • Request and track quotations, service schedules, scope details, and completion

status.

  • Ensure service visits are planned, communicated, documented, and followed through

to closure.

  • Maintain vendor service records, manuals, certificates, and related technical

documentation.
New Equipment, Projects, and Startup Readiness

  • Support installation, startup, commissioning, and handoff of new equipment and

modified systems.

  • Help ensure new assets are incorporated into maintenance schedules, spare parts

lists, technical files, and service plans.

  • Coordinate collection of manuals, recommended spare parts, OEM maintenance

instructions, and training support for new assets.

  • Support maintenance readiness for new equipment introductions, line changes,

packaging changes, and new product launches.

  • Assist during trials and first production runs to help ensure equipment is mechanically

ready and required support items are available.
Documentation, Systems, and Compliance

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, parts records, equipment

histories, and service documentation within applicable maintenance systems, CMMS
tools, spreadsheets, or ERP platforms.

  • Support improvement of maintenance data quality, task closure discipline, and overall

record accuracy.

  • Ensure maintenance activities and contractor work are aligned with site safety

requirements, GMP expectations, plant procedures, and applicable regulatory
standards.

  • Promote clean, organized, and audit-ready maintenance shops, parts areas, and work

zones.
