Maintenance Technician (General / Electrical)

Overall Job Purpose

To carry out general maintenance, basic electrical works, and repair tasks to ensure all facilities, equipment, and utilities are in good working condition.

Key Responsibilities

1. General Maintenance

• Repair doors, locks, hinges, and other basic fixtures.

• Perform minor carpentry, plumbing, and repair works when required.

• Ensure workplace facilities are safe and functional.

2. Electrical Works (Basic)

• Replace and install lighting (bulbs, LED, fixtures).

• Repair and replace power sockets, plugs, and switches.

• Conduct basic electrical testing to ensure power supply is functioning.

• Troubleshoot minor electrical issues.

3. Preventive Maintenance

• Carry out routine inspection of facilities and report defects.

• Perform scheduled maintenance to prevent breakdowns.

4. Support & Coordination

• Assist in installation of equipment and machinery when required.

• Coordinate with external contractors for major repairs.

• Maintain tools and ensure proper usage.

5. Safety Compliance

• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines.

• Ensure all repair works are carried out safely and properly.

Job Requirements

• Minimum SPM / Technical Certificate (Electrical or related field preferred).

• At least 1–2 years experience in maintenance or technician role.

• Basic knowledge of electrical wiring and repair.

• Able to use basic tools (drill, tester, screwdriver, etc.).

• Responsible, hands-on, and able to work independently.
