Lead Building Maintenance / Handy Man Technician

Location: Singer Island, FL

Job Type: Full-time

Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with a one-hour lunch

Job Summary

Water Glades 200 Condominium Association is seeking an experienced Lead Building Maintenance Technician for its 84-unit, 23-floor condominium. This hands-on position is responsible for maintaining the building’s appearance, safety, mechanical systems, and daily operations.

The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently under the direction of the GM and Board President.

Key Responsibilities

Perform daily inspections of all floors, mechanical areas, roof equipment, hallways, lobby, fitness room, sidewalks, and common areas.

Complete drywall repairs, spackling, painting, and general handyman work.

Handle basic plumbing and electrical tasks that do not require a license or permit.

Check elevators, automatic doors, lighting, and other building equipment; report problems and coordinate professional service when needed.

Respond to maintenance requests and building emergencies.

Coordinate and oversee outside contractors.

Maintain inspection logs, work orders, checklists, and monthly maintenance reports.

Keep workshops, tools, and storage areas clean and organized.

Coordinate daily needs with the housekeeper.

Communicate professionally with management, the Board, residents, and vendors.

Maintain a clean and safe environment and follow all safety procedures.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

At least 5 years of building maintenance experience.

Strong knowledge of painting, drywall, basic plumbing, basic electrical work, and general building maintenance.

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, bend and stoop frequently, and lift up to 50 pounds.

English proficiency required.

Valid driver’s license required.

This position may require overtime, emergency on-call availability and predefined weekly assistance at Tower 100. . A full-time housekeeper supports the building’s daily cleaning needs.
