Maintenance Technician / Handyman

We are looking for a practical and reliable Maintenance Technician / Handyman to join the team at Pastures Lodge & Hotel.

This is a varied, hands-on role responsible for carrying out general maintenance across the hotel, pub, grounds and associated facilities, helping us maintain a safe, well-presented and fully operational environment for our guests and team.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out general repairs and maintenance throughout the property
• Completing basic plumbing, joinery, decorating and general handyman tasks
• Responding promptly to maintenance issues reported by staff or guests
• Carrying out routine preventative maintenance checks
• Inspecting bedrooms, public areas and back-of-house areas for defects
• Completing minor repairs to fixtures, fittings, furniture and equipment
• Supporting with basic grounds and external maintenance where required
• Monitoring and reporting any larger maintenance issues requiring specialist contractors
• Assisting with contractor access and works where necessary
• Ensuring maintenance tasks are completed safely and to a good standard
• Keeping maintenance areas, tools and equipment organised
• Completing maintenance records and checklists as required
• Supporting the hotel team with occasional setup, moving or practical tasks when needed

About You

We are looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience in maintenance, property repairs or a similar handyman role
• Has good general DIY and practical skills
• Is comfortable carrying out a range of minor repairs
• Can identify problems and take ownership of finding a solution
• Is reliable, organised and able to work independently
• Takes pride in completing work to a high standard
• Has a good understanding of health & safety
• Is flexible and willing to assist across different areas of the property
• Has good communication skills and can work well with the wider hotel team

Experience within a hotel, pub, hospitality or commercial property environment would be advantageous but is not essential.

Working Hours

• 18 hours per week, 3 days a week
• Part-time position
• Hours will be arranged around the operational needs of the business
• Some flexibility may be required for urgent maintenance issues
