Hotel Maintenance Technician – Job Description

We are seeking a dependable, skilled, and detail-oriented Hotel Maintenance Technician to ensure our property remains safe, functional, and well-maintained. The ideal candidate will have experience in general building maintenance, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance within a hotel or similar commercial property.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform daily maintenance and repairs throughout guest rooms, public areas, and hotel facilities.
• Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, lighting, appliances, and general building equipment.
• Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests and resolve issues professionally and efficiently.
• Complete preventative maintenance (PM) inspections in guest rooms, including checking HVAC units, plumbing fixtures, electrical outlets, lighting, furniture, and appliances.
• Maintain hotel grounds, parking lots, entrances, and exterior areas to ensure cleanliness and safety.
• Repair and maintain doors, locks, walls, flooring, furniture, and bathroom fixtures.
• Perform painting, drywall repairs, caulking, and other general property improvements.
• Inspect and maintain mechanical rooms, equipment, and building systems.
• Monitor maintenance inventory, tools, and supplies and report purchasing needs to management.
• Complete assigned work orders promptly and maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Work closely with housekeeping and front desk teams to ensure guest rooms are operational and ready for occupancy.
• Identify and report potential safety hazards, equipment failures, and major repair needs.
• Ensure all maintenance work complies with hotel brand standards, company policies, and applicable safety regulations.
• Assist with emergency maintenance situations, including water leaks, power outages, and equipment malfunctions.
• Support hotel management in maintaining property inspection readiness and overall guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Previous hotel or commercial building maintenance experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and general repairs.
• Ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues.
• Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and emergency situations when required.
• Ability to communicate professionally with guests, coworkers, and management.
• Must be reliable, proactive, and able to prioritize multiple maintenance requests.

Our Expectations: The Maintenance Technician must take ownership of the property's physical condition, proactively identify issues before they affect guests, complete preventative maintenance consistently, and help ensure the hotel meets company and brand quality standards.

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
