MAINTENANCE WORKER II

The City of West Hollywood has a population of 37,000, which reflects the

unique and diverse cross-section of Californian citizenry. This very

progressive city is seeking an energetic and dynamic Planning Manager. The

Planning Manager reports to the Director of Community Development, and will

be responsible for implementing the City's vision through the planning

process. The Planning Manager will update and implement the City's General

Plan, the Zoning Ordinance and other working documents.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements The Ideal Candidate will have strong analytical skills, be well versed in

CEQA as well as other statutes affecting municipal planning and zoning. The

City has current, advanced and historic preservation programs; very strong

oral and written skills are needed to communicate with the Council, staff,

and the public to facilitate these projects. A typical way to obtain the

required experience for this position would be to possess a Bachelor¹s

degree from an accredited college or university, with a degree in urban

planning, public administration, or a closely related field. Additionally,

two to four years are needed in progressively responsible administrative and

supervisory experience, in municipal planning and development.
