Maintenance/Bus Driver

Valley View Village, a Cassia community, is hiring an experienced, driven person to join our Maintenance team to help keep our campus safe, comfortable, and welcoming for residents and staff. Working on our Maintenance teamat Valley View Village, you’ll assist with general maintenance, repairs, painting and preventative upkeep throughout the community. You'll also serve as a backup bus driver for resident and employee outings, as needed. Our ideal candidate has 3-5 years of maintenance experience, is dependable, detail‑oriented, and enjoys working independently while supporting a team‑focused environment. **Position Type:**Full-Time, benefits eligible position

Shift: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm

Wage: $20 - $22 / per hour depending on experience

Location: 2571 Guthrie Ave, Des Moines, IA 50317

Maintenance Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance repairs and projects as needed.
• Implement and schedule a preventive maintenance program.
• Respond to maintenance requests by residents and staff.
• Painting and drywalling.
• Follow-through on projects with little supervision.
• Perform manual tasks and carry out all given job-related instructions.
• Keep detailed reports of ongoing and completed projects.
• Complete lawn care and snow removal as needed.
• Serve as backup bus driver for scheduled resident and employee outings as needed.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Maintenance Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of maintenance experience required.
• D3 chauffer’s license or a passenger endorsement CDL.
• Prior experience in plumbing, electrical work, HVAC and/or floor care preferred.
• Prior experience in a healthcare setting preferred, but not required.
• Must be available to work on-call as needed.
• Able to make repairs inside and outside of building, basic carpentry, basic plumbing, replace light bulbs, filters, etc.
• Able to use basic maintenance tools such as hammer, pliers, screwdriver, drill, etc.
• Must have strong communication and organizational skills.
