The Role

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Management Accountant to join the Melbourne finance team.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, this is a hands-on and commercially focused role supporting the financial performance of a dynamic manufacturing operation. The successful candidate will work closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, Quality, R&D and Commercial teams, providing meaningful financial insights to improve profitability, productivity and business performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage product costing, standard costs and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
• Analyse manufacturing variances and product profitability
• Prepare monthly management reports, KPI analysis and performance commentary
• Support budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning
• Partner with operational teams to improve productivity and profitability
• Assist with capital investment evaluations and continuous improvement initiatives
• Maintain inventory controls and support audit and compliance requirements
• Oversee Accounts Payable, including supplier payments, reconciliations and procure-to-pay controls

About You

• Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance or Commerce
• CPA or CA qualified, or currently working towards qualification
• Minimum 3 years' experience in Management Accounting, Cost Accounting or Manufacturing Finance
• Experience within FMCG, food, beverage or manufacturing environments highly regarded
• Strong knowledge of standard costing, inventory accounting, budgeting and forecasting
• Strong analytical and business partnering capabilities
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Microsoft Dynamics or MYOB Acumatica will be highly regarded
• Comfortable working closely with manufacturing and operational stakeholders
