Management Accountant

Looking for a varied accounting role where no two days are the same?

We're on the hunt for a proactive and detail-oriented Management Accountant to join our team.

You'll play a key role in supporting the financial operations of the business, working across reporting, reconciliations, GST, payroll support, and project accounting activities.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing month-end balance sheet reconciliations and journals across group entities
• Assist with processing of day-to-day transactions for group companies including processing subcontractor claims and labour hire costs
• Supporting accounts payable and receivable
• Preparing and assisting with various statutory returns
• Providing backup payroll support
• Assist Finance Manager with monthly management reports for the group, including variance and trend analysis.
• Assist teams with review work in progress (WIP) each month, including cost-to-complete, revenue recognition and over- or under-claims, with project managers.
• Daily treasury management, monitoring cash flow and working capital, including the timing of progress claims, subcontractor payments and retentions.
• Recommend improvements to reporting tools, job costing processes and system automation.

What we're looking for

• 5+ years' accounting or finance experience
• Accounting qualification and currently working towards CA
• Strong Excel and reconciliation skills
• A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Great communication skills and a collaborative approach
• Experience with Jobpac, Lentune, Simpro, Xero, and iPayroll is advantageous
• Construction, trades, or project accounting experience would be beneficial
