What they need

Liverpool | Management Trainee | Full-time | 37.5 hours per week

You are the sort of person who instinctively looks for practical ways to make a busy shift run smoother for everyone. When unexpected delays crop up or plans change on site, you don't stall, you evaluate the options, communicate clearly with the team, and keep things moving forward with a fair, sensible approach.

If you are looking for a hands-on pathway into business operations, floor leadership, and team coordination across Merseyside, this full-time Management Trainee position offers a structured starting point. We are growing our regional team and need a grounded, observant trainee to learn site operations, staff scheduling, and operational delivery from the ground up in Liverpool.

Trainee Core Duties

Rotating across key operational areas alongside senior site managers, your day-to-day role will involve:

  • Learning daily shift coordination, briefing frontline staff, and allocating floor responsibilities across local sites.
  • Assisting with staff rotas, shift logbooks, and attendance tracking to maintain full operational coverage.
  • Monitoring shift standards, customer service quality, and site safety guidelines during live operations.
  • Supporting recruitment coordination, screening initial applicant details, and scheduling interviews for site roles.
  • Helping onboard and train new frontline staff on shift procedures, venue layouts, and safety rules.
  • Tracking daily operational metrics, inventory dispatches, and equipment logs to identify floor efficiencies.
  • Managing customer or venue queries on site promptly, resolving floor issues with a practical mindset.
  • Preparing weekly operational summaries and performance updates for regional management.

What We Look For

We place far more weight on clear decision-making, personal accountability, and a supportive team manner than on formal corporate management credentials. We look for:

  • A level-headed, practical approach when dealing with tight shift schedules or venue adjustments.
  • Clear, professional communication skills when briefing staff or speaking with venue partners.
  • Good numerical literacy and comfort using spreadsheets, shift schedules, and reporting tools.
  • Strong personal standards regarding punctuality, shift reliability, and leading by example on the floor.
  • An organized, observant nature with a genuine interest in operational management and team support.
  • Previous experience in retail, hospitality, customer service, administration, team leadership, or university society roles is a plus, but not essential as full training is provided.

Development & Management Mentorship

This program is structured to guide you step-by-step from frontline floor support into taking full responsibility for regional sites and shift operations.

Your onboarding begins by working side-by-side with experienced operations managers to understand our shift logistics, reporting software, and compliance standards. Through regular one-to-one coaching, you will review recent shift runs, refine your delegation techniques, and receive constructive feedback on operational decisions. As your confidence grows, you will lead daily shifts independently, manage multi-zone operations, and progress into full site management roles.

What We Offer

  • Competitive base salary
  • Enhanced pay rates for weekend shifts
  • Performance-based bonuses linked to site operational targets
  • Complete initial training covering shift management, safety compliance, and operational systems
  • Regular one-to-one coaching and continuous leadership development
  • Practical experience managing live operations and regional teams across Liverpool
  • Team social events and group incentives
  • Formal recognition for operational accuracy, thorough planning, and floor leadership
  • Clear internal pathways to step directly into full site manager and operations manager positions

Application Steps

If you want to build a career in business operations and site management within a supportive Liverpool team, please submit your CV along with your up-to-date contact details. We review applications regularly and will reach out to suitable candidates for an initial phone conversation.
