What they need

Full time | Permanent | Monday to Friday | On-site

Learning to lead is easier when you are taught by people already doing the job. We are taking on Management Trainees to learn how our business is run, starting on a £27,000 basic salary and working Monday to Friday alongside our management team.

You don't need management experience or a degree. Many people who make good managers start in shops, restaurants, call centres and other customer-facing jobs, where they learn how to handle people and pressure. We build on that with our structured training and day-to-day coaching.

The Programme

Your training is planned in stages. In the first few months, you will shadow experienced managers and learn how each part of the business works. As your confidence grows, you will take on more responsibility, from running team briefings to helping manage day-to-day performance. Your progress is reviewed regularly, so you always know where you stand and what to work on next.

How You'll Spend Your Time

  • Shadowing managers in meetings, planning sessions and team reviews
  • Learning how we track performance and report on results
  • Leading morning briefings and sharing updates with the team
  • Helping plan rotas and cover so the team is properly staffed
  • Supporting new starters during their first few weeks
  • Dealing with customer queries and complaints, and passing on anything that needs escalating
  • Preparing weekly reports on team activity and results
  • Helping with recruitment, including sorting applications and sitting in on interviews
  • Running small projects to improve how the team works

Who This Suits

  • Someone who naturally takes the lead in a group
  • A clear, confident communicator
  • Organised and able to plan ahead
  • Calm when problems come up, and practical about solving them
  • Keen to receive feedback and act on it
  • Comfortable using email, spreadsheets and basic reporting tools, or happy to learn
  • Previous supervisory experience is useful but not essential

Salary and Prospects

  • £27,000 basic salary
  • Structured paid training covering leadership, planning and people management
  • Regular one-to-ones and progress reviews with a senior manager
  • Progression to Assistant Manager, based on performance and reviewed every six months
  • Real experience of running a team, not just watching others do it

If you want to learn how to lead and are ready to put the work in, apply through Indeed with your CV to be considered for the next stage.
