Manager – Actuarial Reporting

Role Purpose

The Manager will deliver Embedded Value (EV) and Free Surplus Generation (FSG) reporting, with primary focus on producing accurate results and clear analysis of financial movements and experience variances. This role will manage the day‑to‑day reporting cycles end‑to‑end, ensure processes are well controlled and documented, and contribute to process improvement and automation initiatives. The position requires a hands‑on manager who can guide and develop junior team members, and work closely with Group Finance/Actuarial, local CFO/CA office and external auditors under the direction of the Head of Actuarial Reporting.

Key Accountabilities

Sustainability & Scalability of Reporting Processes

-   Delivery Planning: Plan and manage the reporting timetable, workload allocation and deliverables for each EV and FSG cycle, escalating risks and issues on a timely basis.

-   Process Execution: Run end‑to‑end EV and FSG reporting cycles, including assumption updates, application of agreed methodology, analysis of movement, variance investigations, and preparation of management insights.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

-   Act as the day‑to‑day contact point for Group Finance/Actuarial, local CFO/CA office and external auditors.

-   Explain financial results and their drivers clearly, and prepare supporting materials for senior management reporting.

-   Provide robust and timely financial and actuarial analysis to support management decision‑making.

Governance, Controls & Compliance

-   Maintain and continuously enhance Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with Group standards, local policies, regulatory requirements, and SOX controls.

-   Ensure audit readiness with comprehensive process controls and clear documentation support.

Innovation, Automation & Transformation

-    Identify and implement process improvements and automation to increase the efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of actuarial reporting.

-    Support technical initiatives that enhance the company’s financial position and optimize capital/free surplus outcomes.

-    Champion a culture of innovation within reporting team.

Leadership & Talent Development

-   Supervise, coach and review the work of junior team members to build strong technical and analytical capabilities.

-   Build bench strength within the team through on‑the‑job guidance, knowledge sharing and clear documentation, so that key tasks are not single‑person dependent.

-  Promote a collaborative team environment with a mindset of continuous improvement and professional growth.

Experience

• 5–8 years of experience in actuarial valuation: EV, IFRS / Local statutory reporting, or related actuarial areas.
• At least 1–2 years of supervisory experience or leading a small workstream / reporting process is an advantage.
• Good progress toward actuarial fellowship is preferred.
