Ngā kōrero mo tēnei tūranga / About the role
Based in our Tāmaki Makaurau / Auckland office, you’ll be part of PwC New Zealand’s ESG Reporting & Assurance team, working alongside colleagues across Assurance and PwC’s wider network.
In this team, you’ll support clients as they respond to the evolving sustainability reporting landscape and strengthen the credibility and resilience of sustainability-critical reporting.
As a Sustainability Manager, you’ll lead the planning and delivery of sustainability reporting and assurance engagements, manage day-to-day client relationships, coach team members, and help ensure work is delivered to PwC’s quality standards.
Your day-to-day could include:
Leading sustainability assurance engagements, including scoping, planning, execution, review and reporting.
Acting as a key day-to-day contact for clients, building trusted relationships and supporting engagement leaders.
Coaching and guiding engagement teams, including reviewing working papers and deliverables.
Supporting clients and teams with sustainability reporting frameworks and requirements, including Aotearoa New Zealand Climate Standards, Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards, GHG Protocol and PCAF.
Managing engagement quality, risk, timelines, resourcing and budgets to support successful outcomes.
Ngā pūkenga ka kawea mai e koe, ka whakawhanakehia rānei i tēnei tūranga / Skills you will bring or develop in this role
A relevant Bachelor’s qualification in accounting, sustainability, or a closely related discipline.
5+ years’ experience in professional services, audit and/or consulting, with strong exposure to sustainability reporting, GHG emissions measurement, ESG reporting and/or assurance.
Experience leading engagements or workstreams, including coaching others and reviewing deliverables.
Strong working knowledge of GHG Protocol, with PCAF and financed emissions knowledge an advantage.
Confidence working through complex and evolving technical matters, using sound judgement to develop pragmatic and defensible solutions.
Strong project management capability across scope, timelines, resourcing and quality.
Clear written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging with client stakeholders.
Desirable experience includes sustainability assurance standards such as ISAE (NZ) 3000, ISAE (NZ) 3410 and/or ISSA (NZ) 5000, and experience supporting climate reporting requirements or assurance over climate metrics and disclosures.
