Job Title: Manager - Category

Location: Chennai

Experience: 6 yrs - 8 Yrs

Key responsibilities:

Category Strategy & Growth:

• Define and execute the holistic strategy for category across D2C, marketplaces, and retail channels.
• Optimize product mix, pricing, promotions, and merchandising to drive growth across all sales platforms

P&L Management:

• Take full ownership of the category’s Profit & Loss across all channels, balancing revenue growth with margin optimization.
• Develop pricing and promotional strategies tailored to different platforms while maintaining profitability.

Multi-Channel Performance Optimization:

• Enhance conversion rates, average order value (AOV), and repeat purchases across D2C, e-commerce marketplaces, and offline retail.
• Develop channel-specific growth levers to maximize visibility and sales.

Market & Consumer Intelligence:

• Analyze industry trends, competitive benchmarks, and customer behavior to identify new growth opportunities.
• Adapt strategies based on platform-specific consumer insights and category trends.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Work closely with Marketing, Supply Chain, Sales, Finance, and Product teams to align and execute category growth plans effectively.
• Collaborate with marketplace teams and retail distributors to enhance category performance across channels.

Product Development & Portfolio Management:

• New product development initiatives in collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
• Continuously refine the product portfolio to ensure innovation, relevance, and efficiency across D2C, marketplaces, and retail.

Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination:

• Work with demand planning and supply chain teams to optimize stock availability across channels.
• Ensure efficient inventory allocation between D2C, e-commerce marketplaces, and offline retail to minimize stockouts or overstocking.

Brand Positioning & Consumer Engagement:

• Work with the internal teams to leverage qualitative and quantitative research to strengthen product positioning, messaging, and brand recall across multiple sales channels.
• Develop channel-specific merchandising and promotional campaigns to enhance customer engagement.

Key Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience in category management, brand management, or growth roles in F&B, FMCG, or relevant consumer sectors.
• Strong analytical and commercial acumen, with experience in managing P&L across multiple sales channels.
• Deep understanding of consumer behavior and purchase journeys across D2C, marketplaces, and retail.
• Experience in e-commerce growth strategies, including digital merchandising, pricing, and promotional planning.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and drive execution.
• Passion for South Indian food, snacking trends, and building consumer-loved brands.
