MANAGER (CIVIL & STRUCTURAL)

Main responsibilities:

Lead the Civil & Structural Unit in coordinating and reviewing design works carried out by consultants and implementing agents for approved projects under PAAB.

Tasks:

1. Lead the checking and review of civil and structural designs prepared by consultants, implementing agents and specialists.

2. Provide technical support on engineering matters related to projects, including project evaluation, detailed studies, detailed design and tender stages.

3. Ensure that design works prepared by consultants and implementing agents comply with applicable standards and regulatory requirements.

4. Review all technical documents submitted by consultants and implementing agents, including technical reports, specifications, design drawings, tender documents and other project-related documents from the design stage to the tender stage.

5. Assist in coordinating project-related activities.

6. Provide technical input to other departments, divisions and companies on matters related to engineering design, as required.

7. Develop relevant technical documents.

8. Assist in reviewing the performance of consultants from the design stage to the tender stage.

9. Attend meetings and prepare meeting materials and minutes, as required.

10. Assist in preparing reports and documentation for all projects assigned from the design stage to the tender stage.

11. Perform other duties as assigned by Management and/or the immediate superior from time to time.

Requirements:

• Recognized Degree in Civil Engineering or its equivalent;
• At least 12 years’ experience in Waterworks or similar nature;
• Proficiency in the use of MS Office suite including MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint;
• Proficiency in spoken and written English and Bahasa Malaysia is required;
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills are essential;
• The candidate should possess good leadership attributes and be energetic;
• Being self-motivated, analytical, resourceful and having strong integrity are important qualities; and
• A good working attitude and willingness to travel are expected.
