Manager Cloud Infrastructure

Job Purpose

To lead the management and operation of the Bank’s enterprise Linux, private cloud, virtualisation and container infrastructure. The role combines team leadership with hands-on technical oversight to ensure infrastructure availability, security, performance and scalability, supporting mission-critical applications, business continuity and financial sector compliance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Infrastructure Management and Team Leadership

• Manage cloud infrastructure operations, team priorities, resource allocation and technical escalations.
• Oversee enterprise Linux and private cloud environments supporting production and non-production workloads.
• Manage infrastructure availability against the required 99.999% uptime target.
• Coordinate with network, database, storage, backup, development and security teams to maintain reliable services.
• Maintain operational procedures, technical documentation and structured escalation processes.

2. Cloud Architecture and Capacity Planning

• Translate business and technical requirements into secure, scalable and resilient infrastructure solutions.
• Develop and maintain cloud architecture standards, guidelines and solution diagrams.
• Lead infrastructure provisioning, configuration, integration and deployment.
• Plan capacity and optimise infrastructure performance, resource utilisation and cost efficiency.
• Evaluate technologies and recommend improvements aligned with the Bank’s requirements.

3. Linux and Virtualisation Management

• Oversee Linux server administration, configuration, performance tuning and troubleshooting.
• Manage Hyper-V and KVM environments, including VM provisioning, snapshots, replication and high availability.
• Lead Linux patching, rolling updates, kernel upgrades and security patch deployment.
• Validate system stability and compliance following upgrades and configuration changes.

4. Kubernetes and Container Platforms

• Manage Oracle Kubernetes Engine (OKE), upstream Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift and Rancher environments.
• Oversee containerised application deployment, cluster scaling and multi-cluster operations.
• Manage role-based access control (RBAC), ingress configurations, storage classes and namespaces.
• Lead the resolution of cluster, workload and platform performance issues.

5. Infrastructure Automation and Application Support

• Drive infrastructure provisioning through Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
• Implement Ansible automation for configuration management, patching, server hardening and application deployment.
• Oversee the installation, configuration and maintenance of IIS, Apache Tomcat, JBoss EAP and WildFly.
• Support SSL configuration, application server upgrades, log analysis and deployment troubleshooting.
• Improve operational efficiency through standardisation and automation.

6. Security, Compliance and Business Continuity

• Ensure infrastructure adheres to applicable financial sector requirements and the Bank’s security standards.
• Oversee vulnerability remediation, access controls, encryption and server hardening.
• Monitor infrastructure health, performance and availability, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
• Maintain backup, replication and disaster recovery arrangements to support business continuity.
• Communicate infrastructure risks, incidents and service improvement requirements to relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in CS or relevent fields.

Experience

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in Linux and cloud infrastructure administration.
• Experience managing enterprise-scale, mission-critical infrastructure.
• Experience leading technical teams and managing infrastructure operations and escalations.
• Hands-on experience with private cloud, Kubernetes, virtualisation, Terraform and Ansible.
• Experience in infrastructure security, patch management, monitoring, backup and disaster recovery.
