Bakery Manager — Tukwila Location

Asian Family Market is launching a brand-new Asian bakery department at our Tukwila store. We're looking for an experienced Bakery Manager to build this program from the ground up — from menu and equipment to hiring and training the team.

What you'll do:

• Lead the setup and launch of the new Asian bakery department, including layout, equipment, and workflow planning
• Develop and manage the bakery menu — items such as egg tarts, pineapple buns, roast pork buns, taro/red bean pastries, sponge cake, and other Asian bakery specialties
• Source ingredients and manage vendor relationships specific to the bakery program
• Hire, train, and supervise bakery staff; build out scheduling and staffing plans
• Ensure full compliance with food safety regulations, health codes, and proper food handling certifications
• Manage inventory, ordering, waste control, and department costs
• Set pricing and work with store leadership on promotions, seasonal items, and merchandising for the bakery case
• Own the department's P&L and report on sales performance and margins
• Maintain quality and consistency standards as the department scales

What we're looking for:

• Proven experience managing a bakery or pastry department (Asian bakery experience strongly preferred)
• Experience launching or building out a new department or program is a big plus
• Hands-on baking/production skills alongside management experience
• Current food safety manager certification (or ability to obtain one)
• Strong leadership and staff management skills
• Comfortable owning budget, ordering, and P&L responsibility for the department
• Bilingual in Mandarin or Cantonese strongly preferred, given the department's focus
• Willing to work early/variable hours common in bakery production, especially during launch

• 管理库存、订货、损耗控制及部门成本
• 制定商品定价,并与店内管理层协作制定促销、季节性商品及陈列方案
• 对部门损益负责,定期汇报销售业绩及利润情况
• 在部门规模扩大过程中维持品质与一致性标准

任职要求:

• 有烘焙或西点部门管理经验(有亚洲烘焙经验者优先)
• 有从零筹建新部门/新项目经验者优先
• 具备实际动手烘焙/生产技能,同时兼具管理经验
• 持有有效的食品安全经理证书(或能够考取)
• 具备较强的领导力及人员管理能力
• 能够独立承担部门预算、订货及损益责任
• 鉴于部门定位,强烈建议会中文(普通话或粤语)
• 愿意配合烘焙生产常见的早班/不固定工时,尤其在开业初期
