MANAGER position: Castle Christmas Limerick

Rate: €19 per hour

Castle Christmas is a brand new immersive Christmas experience coming to King John’s Castle, Limerick this November and December.

We are looking for Managers to join the operational team and help ensure the experience runs smoothly for both our staff and our visitors.

Working directly under the Event Managers, you will be responsible for overseeing an assigned area of the experience, managing the team working within that section and making sure the day to day operation stays on schedule.

The Role

You will be responsible for:

• Managing and supporting staff within your assigned section
• Ensuring staff are in the correct positions and ready for each session
• Managing the movement and flow of visitors through your section
• Keeping an eye on timings and ensuring the experience stays on schedule
• Communicating with Event Managers and other section managers throughout the day
• Dealing with customer queries and issues in a friendly and professional manner
• Escalating any significant customer, staffing, safety or operational issues to the Event Managers
• Supporting staff during busy periods and stepping in where required
• Monitoring queues, capacity and the general flow of the experience
• Ensuring the section is clean, presentable and ready for visitors
• Carrying out operational checks throughout the day
• Helping with opening and closing procedures
• Supporting the wider event team with general operational duties when required

What We're Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is organised, confident and calm under pressure, with experience managing people or working in a busy event, hospitality, theatre, visitor attraction or similar environment.

You should be:

• Comfortable managing a team and giving clear direction
• Good at communicating with both staff and customers
• Able to stay calm and make decisions when things get busy
• Organised and aware of timings and schedules
• Proactive and able to spot problems before they become bigger issues
• Comfortable working as part of a larger management team
• Friendly and approachable with visitors
• Reliable and willing to get stuck in when needed

Previous experience in event management, theatre, hospitality, visitor attractions, festivals or customer facing operations would be an advantage.

About Castle Christmas:

Castle Christmas is a new immersive Christmas experience at King John’s Castle, bringing families through a festive journey filled with characters, storytelling, activities and a visit to Santa.

This is a busy, hands-on role and will suit someone who enjoys working in a live environment where no two days are exactly the same.
