We’re looking for an experienced, motivated and hands-on manager to take the lead at The Dough Hut and help drive the business forward.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys the hospitality industry, has a commercial mindset and wants to play an active role in developing an independent business.

The Role

As Manager of The Dough Hut, you’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day running of our coffee shop, bakery and sandwich stop, ensuring high standards across the business.

We’re looking for someone who can work independently, lead by example and take ownership of the shop’s performance.

You’ll have the opportunity to work creatively with our other businesses, sharing ideas, developing products and finding new ways to attract customers and grow sales.

We value people who use their initiative, spot opportunities and aren’t afraid to bring new ideas to the table.

There may also be opportunities to work across our other At A.M businesses, offering variety and the chance to contribute to the wider group.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the day-to-day running of The Dough Hut.
• Lead, motivate and support the team to deliver excellent customer service.
• Prepare and serve high-quality coffee and ensure consistently high standards across bakery products and sandwiches.
• Manage stock, ordering, wastage and daily operations efficiently.
• Monitor sales and identify opportunities to improve performance and profitability.
• Ensure excellent food hygiene, cleanliness and health and safety standards.
• Manage opening and closing procedures.
• Handle customer feedback professionally and ensure customers receive a great experience.
• Develop creative ideas for promotions, products and ways to increase footfall and sales.
• Work collaboratively with At A.M and Bikes & Bakes to share ideas and develop the businesses.
• Take initiative, solve problems and make confident day-to-day decisions.
• Help drive the continued growth and success of The Dough Hut and the wider At A.M group.

About You

Previous management experience, hands-on coffee shop experience and barista skills are essential.

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has proven experience managing a team and overseeing daily operations.
• Has practical experience working in a coffee shop or similar hospitality environment.
• Has barista experience and is confident preparing quality espresso-based drinks.
• Can work independently, make decisions and take responsibility for the business.
• Leads by example and is happy to get hands-on with all aspects of the role.
• Understands sales, profitability, stock control and minimising waste.
• Has excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Is organised, reliable and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• Is proactive, enthusiastic and always looking for ways to improve.
• Enjoys being creative and contributing ideas.
• Can identify opportunities to grow the business and turn ideas into action.
• Is happy to collaborate with our other shops and, where needed, work across the wider business.

We’re not looking for someone who simply wants to keep things ticking over. We want someone who takes pride in what they do, brings energy to the role and genuinely wants to make a difference.

Who This Role Is NOT Suitable For

To ensure we’re considering candidates with the right experience, this position is not suitable for:

• Applicants without previous management or supervisory experience.
• Applicants without hands-on experience working in a coffee shop or similar hospitality setting.
• Applicants without practical barista experience or the ability to prepare espresso-based coffee drinks.
• Candidates whose experience is limited to customer service without responsibility for running or managing a team.
• Anyone who requires constant direction rather than being able to work independently and use their initiative.
• Anyone looking for a role where they simply follow instructions without taking ownership or contributing ideas.

We’re looking for an experienced, hands-on manager who understands coffee shop operations, can confidently make great coffee and has the drive to run a successful business.
