Job Summary

The General Manager drives profit growth and operational excellence by overseeing all company departments, supporting managers and supervisors to achieve exceptional performance and delivering quality client offerings.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement key performance goals to enhance staff productivity and business outcomes

Create and execute strategic plans to drive sustainable business growth

Manage recruitment, hiring, and training processes to build a skilled and motivated workforce

Ensure departments deliver high-quality products and services to clients

Collaborate with Account Managers and senior staff to improve operational efficiency and team performance

Optimize internal processes to increase productivity and reduce costs

Oversee large projects, analyze performance reports, and implement improvements

Manage budgets and monitor financial health to maintain profitability

Direct day-to-day operations to ensure smooth business functioning

Establish and enforce policies and procedures to maintain standards and compliance

Lead employee assessment processes to support professional development

Prepare and present regular reports to upper management on operational and financial status

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations across all departments

Identify and resolve business challenges such as profit decline, employee conflicts, and competitive threats

Preferred competencies and qualifications

Proven experience as a General Manager or in a similar executive leadership role

Strong strategic thinking and planning skills demonstrated through successful business initiatives

Expertise in budget management and financial monitoring to optimize expenses

Excellent leadership abilities including goal setting, motivation, training, and mentorship

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including writing, speaking, and active listening

Effective conflict resolution and problem-solving skills applied in high-pressure situations

Strong organizational and time management skills to meet tight deadlines

Analytical thinking skills to interpret data and drive decision-making

In-depth knowledge of industry trends and managerial strategies

Understanding of business processes and functions such as finance, HR, procurement, and operations

Bachelor’s degree in Business or a relevant field; Master’s degree (MSc/MA) is a plus

Experience or knowledge in the tyre industry is advantageous
