Manager - Collection ( Strategy and Risk )

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and highly analytical Manager - Collection (Strategy and Risk) to lead our collections department's strategic initiatives and risk management frameworks. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing collection strategies to maximize recovery rates while minimizing credit losses and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. This role requires a strong blend of strategic thinking, data analysis, risk assessment, and leadership skills to drive continuous improvement in our collection processes and portfolio health.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and refine comprehensive collection strategies across various product lines and customer segments, utilizing data-driven insights and predictive analytics.
• Monitor and analyze collection portfolio performance, identifying trends, root causes of delinquency, and opportunities for process optimization and strategy adjustments.
• Design, implement, and manage robust risk frameworks for collections, including identifying, assessing, and mitigating operational and credit risks within the collection lifecycle.
• Collaborate with credit, legal, and operations teams to ensure alignment of collection strategies with overall business objectives and risk appetite.
• Utilize advanced analytical tools and techniques (e.g., segmentation, champion/challenger testing) to evaluate the effectiveness of collection strategies and propose enhancements.
• Oversee the development and maintenance of collection policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements (e.g., fair debt collection practices) and internal governance standards.
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations on collection performance, strategy effectiveness, and risk exposure for senior management and relevant stakeholders.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of collection analysts and specialists, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and high performance.
• Stay abreast of industry best practices, technological advancements, and regulatory changes impacting collections and risk management.
• Manage vendor relationships for collection agencies, data providers, and technology solutions, ensuring optimal performance and cost-effectiveness.
