Manager - Commercial and Assets (Fixed Term)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced leader for our newly merged multimodal business, bringing together bus and rail operations to create a more connected and efficient network. This new role plays a critical part in shaping how we manage our fleet assets, commercial partnerships and strategic initiatives across the business. This is a fixed term full-time role for 6 months.

Working closely with the Senior leadership team and Managing Director, the General Manager develops long-term asset strategies, leads major contract negotiations, manages client relationships, oversees procurement activities and ensures engineering, maintenance and fleet management functions support safe and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities

·        Lead the commercial and contractual relationship with our client, ensuring strong performance against contractual obligations

·        Develop and implement commercial strategies that manage risk and support long-term business objectives

·        Provide oversight of rail fleet engineering with our engineering partner (Hyundai Rotem) to ensure safety, compliance, reliability and asset performance

·        Lead the bus fleet management function

·        Build collaborative relationships with our client, suppliers, and industry partners

What you bring

We are looking for an experienced executive leader who can combine commercial acumen with asset management expertise. You will be comfortable leading complex stakeholder relationships while driving operational performance across multiple functions.

·        Significant senior leadership experience in assets and commercial contract management, ideally gained in the transport industry

·        Bachelor’s degree in business or other related discipline (desirable)

·        Demonstrated experience leading fleet, asset management or engineering functions

·        Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management and influencing skills

·        Strong financial and commercial management capability

·        Proven experience delivering major projects and strategic initiatives
