With an expanding portfolio of international principals, ship owners, charterers, and maritime partners, we are seeking an experienced and results-driven Manager - Commercial Operations to lead our operations team and drive operational excellence across all vessel agency activities.

This leadership role is ideal for a maritime professional with strong commercial acumen, operational expertise, and proven experience managing vessel operations, client relationships, and high-performing teams.

Position Summary

The Manager - Commercial Operations will be responsible for overseeing the complete vessel agency lifecycle from nomination through FDA closure while ensuring operational efficiency, profitability, client satisfaction, regulatory compliance, and business growth.

The role requires leadership capabilities, stakeholder management skills, and the ability to manage multiple vessel calls and operational teams simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities:

Commercial & Strategic Management

• Lead and manage all commercial operations activities across assigned ports.
• Oversee preparation, review, approval, and control of DA and FDA processes.
• Ensure commercial viability and profitability of vessel calls.
• Monitor revenue performance, operational costs, and service delivery standards.
• Support management in identifying business development opportunities and key client relationships.
• Develop and implement operational improvement initiatives.

Vessel Operations Leadership

• Oversee planning and execution of vessel calls from nomination to sailing.
• Ensure timely completion of port formalities, approvals, permits, and documentation.
• Monitor vessel schedules, berth planning, cargo operations, and turnaround performance.
• Coordinate with principals, owners, charterers, terminals, and port authorities.
• Resolve operational challenges and high-impact issues proactively.

Client Relationship Management

• Act as the primary escalation point for key clients.
• Maintain strong relationships with principals, ship owners, charterers, terminals, and government agencies.
• Ensure timely communication, voyage updates, and operational reporting.
• Drive customer satisfaction and service excellence across all vessel calls.
• Conduct regular client performance reviews and identify opportunities for service enhancement.

Financial & Reporting Control

• Review and approve operational expenditures.
• Ensure timely submission and closure of Final Disbursement Accounts (FDA).
• Monitor outstanding receivables and voyage profitability.
• Analyze operational KPIs and prepare management reports.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising service quality.

Team Leadership & Development

• Lead, mentor, and develop the Commercial Operations team.
• Establish departmental KPIs and performance standards.
• Support succession planning and talent development initiatives.
• Promote accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, HSSE requirements, and best industry practices.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Shipping, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5-8 years of experience in vessel agency, shipping operations, maritime logistics, or port operations.
• Minimum 2-3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.

• Ability to manage multiple operational priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred

• Experience handling operations at major Pakistani ports and terminals.
• Existing relationships with maritime stakeholders and regulatory authorities.
• Experience in commercial performance management and client retention.
• Maritime agency, shipping line, or port operations background.
