This is an exciting opportunity to lead a specialist regulatory team responsible for delivering compliance, investigative and enforcement activities that support legislative compliance and improve outcomes across Queensland’s rental sector.

About the opportunity

Reporting to the Director Governance, Risk and Compliance, you will lead the development and delivery of strategic and operational compliance and enforcement programs that support the RTA's regulatory vision and objectives. You will oversee day-to-day regulatory operations while providing leadership, direction and expertise to a high-performing team.

This role is responsible for ensuring regulatory activities are intelligence-led, risk-based and focused on achieving measurable outcomes for the rental sector. You will work across the RTA and with external stakeholders to identify emerging risks, improve compliance capability and strengthen regulatory effectiveness.

What we offer is:

  • The flexibility to work from home up to 60% of the time, once successfully onboarded and approved
  • Contemporary offices at Midtown Centre on Mary St, Brisbane CBD
  • Extensive learning and professional development opportunities
  • A supportive and inclusive culture that values diversity, wellbeing and collaboration
  • Health and wellbeing initiatives, reward and recognition program and a range of employee benefits.

To be successful you will need:

  • Extensive experience leading compliance, regulatory, investigative, assurance, enforcement or similar functions
  • Strong leadership capability, including experience developing high-performing teams and managing complex regulatory matters
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and intelligence to inform decision-making and regulatory priorities
  • Experience developing and implementing risk-based regulatory programs, frameworks or initiatives
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to build productive partnerships across diverse sectors
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare executive-level reports, briefings and correspondence
  • Sound judgement and the ability to navigate complex or sensitive issues within a dynamic operating environment.

If this rewarding role sounds like an opportunity that compliments your current skills, experience and future career plan, we encourage you to read the attached position description and submit your application.

Your application should contain:

  • Cover letter – maximum of 2 pages outlining how and why your skills and experience are suited to this position, specifically relating to the functions outlined within the Your key responsibilities section of the position description, and the leadership competencies outlined in the RTA Leadership Framework
