Manager – Data Analytics, Global Ocean

We are seeking a highly analytical and commercially minded Manager – Data Analytics, Global Ocean to join our Global Headquarter (GHQ) team. In this role, you will serve as the functional Super-User for our global ocean pricing systems, lead market intelligence communications, and partner with the team to optimize space allocation and yield performance through data visibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and manage the global ocean freight rate database, encompassing FCL/LCL ocean freight and origin/destination local charges.

• Act as the global Super-User for ocean rate and database management systems—leading user training, troubleshooting, system future development, and feature enhancements in partnership with IT and other teams.

• Monitor system engagement and usage metrics across global offices, tracking quote generation, quote-to-booking conversion rates, and user adoption.

• Analyze commercial trade performance metrics, win/loss ratios, and user activity trends to drive operational efficiency.

• Own and curate the Global Ocean SharePoint platform to deliver timely market intelligence across the organization.

• Partner with internal trade teams, regional hubs, and external channels to gather, consolidate, and summarize market trends, carrier capacity shifts, and rate dynamics.

• Produce high-impact external customer advisories, trade advisories, presentation decks, and marketing collaterals to support sales and trade initiatives.

• Support Ocean team in managing space allocation and yield performance across assigned trade lanes.

• Develop reporting tools and dashboards that provide clear visibility for teammates on allocation utilization and yield optimization.

• Design, build, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards for executive and management performance reviews, collaborating closely with regional data centers.

• Prepare comprehensive analytical reports and presentations for trade lane performance reviews and key customer meetings.

• Generate volume and profitability reports in close collaboration with our regional data centers.

• Provide ongoing functional and data support for GHQ Ocean systems, tools, and rate databases.

• Lead or assist with ad-hoc strategic trade projects and management requests as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or related discipline.

• Minimum 1–2 years of relevant experience

• Strong numerical and data analysis skills, with experience building Power BI dashboards and handling complex datasets.

• Database management skills (e.g., SQL, database maintenance, or data structuring experience) are preferred.

• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data management.

• Business Acumen: Understanding of ocean freight operations, carrier contracts, and commercial trade lane dynamics.

• Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.

• Fluency in Mandarin is preferred to collaborate effectively with regional data centers and global stakeholders.

• Strong presentation skills with the ability to convey complex data clearly to management and clients.
