  • Proactively monitor platform health, performance, and security using New Relic and cloud-native tools.
  • Ensure optimal performance, capacity, and cost efficiency.
  • Own backup and disaster recovery strategy, including restore testing and environment archiving.

Incident Management & Escalation

  • Lead incident response for Sev‑1 and Sev‑2 events, coordinating technical resolution and client communication.
  • Serve as the final technical escalation point for hosting and platform issues.
  • Author post‑incident reviews and drive preventative actions.
  • Participate in on‑call rotations.

Operational Standards & Documentation

  • Author and maintain runbooks and configuration documentation.
  • Own deployment procedures, including developer sign‑off, execution, and automated verification.
  • Manage change control through Atlassian systems, including rollback plans and emergency-change notifications.
  • Define maintenance window standards and patching cadence.
  • Provide technical inputs for monthly client performance and support reporting.

Infrastructure Planning & Collaboration

  • Partner with the Manager, TechOps Engineering on infrastructure roadmap and reliability planning.
  • Define acceptance criteria for transitioning new sites/services from development to hosting support.
  • Collaborate with Digital Engineering on CMS hosting standards and platform/application boundaries.
  • Support project management in categorizing client requests.
  • Contribute to tool consolidation across the hosting estate.

Security & Compliance

  • Implement and enforce DevSecOps best practices across platforms and infrastructure.
  • Execute security patching and vulnerability remediation within required windows.
  • Enforce least‑privilege IAM, secrets management, and network segmentation.
  • Produce evidence for client security questionnaires and compliance assessments (HITRUST, SOC 2).
  • Participate in security incident response.

Technical Leadership & Mentorship

  • Mentor frontline engineers and support their progression toward Tier 2 independence.
  • Participate in hiring panels for engineering roles.
  • Provide direct line management for platform engineers as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Deep expertise with the Microsoft web stack: Windows Server, IIS tuning, .NET runtime, SQL Server/Azure SQL.
  • Azure production experience (VMs, Azure SQL, App Gateway/WAF, VNets/NSGs, Azure Monitor, Update Manager).
  • Working experience with GCP (Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, IAM, Cloud Monitoring).
  • Hands-on experience running enterprise .NET CMS platforms (Sitecore, Optimizely, Kentico, Umbraco, Sitefinity).
  • Strong diagnostic ability across platform, application, database, and infrastructure layers.
  • Proven incident response leadership, including client communication.
  • Experience authoring runbooks, deployment procedures, and change-management standards.
  • Working knowledge of IaC (Terraform) and CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, Octopus Deploy); scripting in PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
  • Strong understanding of DNS, TLS, HTTP, load balancing, CDN, and WAF configuration.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT or equivalent experience.

Nice to Have

  • Sitecore XP/XM infrastructure specialization (CM/CD roles, xDB, Solr, upgrades/migrations).
  • Familiarity with SaaS/headless CMS (Sitecore XM Cloud, Optimizely SaaS, Vercel front ends).
  • Experience hosting for regulated industries (HIPAA, HITRUST).
  • Agency/consultancy/MSP experience.
  • New Relic administration; Atmos; Ansible; Azure Update Manager at scale.
  • Microsoft Azure Administrator or Solutions Architect certification.
