Manager - Educational Technology and Digital Learning (60177)

Responsibilities:

• The postholder will support the effective and responsible use of educational technologies across the University. The role works closely with academics to promote the effective use of digital tools in blended, online, Open and Distance Learning (ODL), and technology-enhanced learning. Specific duties include:
• Support academics in using educational technologies to enhance teaching, learning, assessment, and student engagement.
• Advise academics on the effective and responsible use and accessibility of digital tools.
• Coordinate the evaluation and piloting of new and existing educational technologies, including gathering user feedback and providing recommendations for improvements.
• Design and facilitate workshops, briefings, and support sessions.
• Develop practical resources such as user guides, FAQs, worked examples, and workshop materials.
• Monitor technology usage, adoption challenges, and emerging support needs, and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Prepare reports and updates on educational technology adoption and development priorities.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support the implementation and development of educational technology initiatives across the University.

Requirements:

• Master’s Degree in Educational Technology, Digital Learning, Instructional Design, Learning Design, Curriculum and Instruction with a specialisation in technology-enhanced learning, or a closely related field.
• Relevant experience in educational technology, digital learning, instructional design, or academic development, including supporting educators in the use of digital tools for teaching, learning, and assessment.
• Experience designing and facilitating workshops, training, or professional development sessions for academic staff. Experience evaluating educational technologies and providing recommendations on their adoption or improvement will be an added advantage.
• Strong understanding of technology-enhanced teaching, blended learning, online learning, and ODL.
• Strong ability to assess digital tools from pedagogical, accessibility, usability, privacy, and implementation perspectives.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to translate technical information into clear and practical guidance for academic staff.
• Able to work collaboratively, manage multiple priorities, and contribute effectively within a small strategic team.
