Job Overview: We are seeking a leading role in Electrical Reliability for our H2 Generation Plant and on-site Solar installations. These plants operate using Solar, Wind, Battery storage or Grid connections, either individually or in combination. This position entails ensuring the reliability of all plants from an electrical standpoint, encompassing both HV & LV systems. The ideal candidate must possess a solid understanding of transformers, rectifiers, breakers, motors, etc. (prior solar experience will be an added advantage). Responsibilities include developing safe operating procedures for electrical operations, creating preventive maintenance schedules for equipment, conducting root cause analyses on failures, devising spare parts plans for the plants, and assisting sites in identifying and troubleshooting issues, either remotely or through on-site visits depending on the severity of the issue.

Supporting the engineering team in identifying suitable equipment, reviewing, and implementing changes by creating MOC (Management of Change) documents are key responsibilities of this role. While the base location for this position will be in Pune, frequent visits to multiple plants across India will be necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating with site teams to oversee day-to-day operations.
  • Establishing a preventive maintenance (PM) schedule for all electrical equipment.
  • Ensuring the timely completion of PM tasks.
  • Conducting root cause analyses (RCA) on equipment failures and facilitating troubleshooting efforts.
  • Developing Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs) for electrical operations.
  • Guaranteeing compliance with electrical safety regulations at the site in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Providing training to site engineers and technicians on electrical operations and safety protocols.
  • Implementing and promoting a safe work culture at the site through the implementation of Permit-to-Work (PtW) systems, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, and Management of Change (MOC) processes.
  • Assisting the project and engineering teams in equipment selection and supporting pre-commissioning/commissioning activities for new plants. Liaising with government offices to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Taking responsibility for maintenance and troubleshooting activities related to solar plants, which are integral to the core plant operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in continuous process plant/Gas Plant/ASU/SMR/Chemical-Fertilizer plants, etc.

  • Strong knowledge of Solar PV-based power generation control and wind power generation control. Control of BESS power systems will be additional value.

Desired Skills:

An Electrical Engineer should have a deep-seated passion for sustainable energy and a desire to make a positive impact on the environment.

Creativity: As renewable energy technologies continue to evolve, an electrical engineer should have the ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions to operational challenges.

Analytical thinking: Electrical Engineers should be able to analyse data, interpret results, and make sound engineering decisions.

Team player: Electrical Engineers should be able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution.
