Manager, Finance & Accounting

The role of a Manager, Finance & Accounting exist to provide support to the executive management by offering insights and financial advice that will allow them to make the informed business decisions for the organisation. The role is responsible for ensuing compliance to relevant laws and regulation through analysis verification and reporting financial information. In order to achieve this, the role will have to be able to rally, manage and motivate the Accounting team members to work as a team to achieve this objective. The role is critical to ensure that the financial affairs of the Company is true and fair with the objective of facilitating the executive management to make informed financial decision in the pursuit of strategic and business objectives in the day to day running of the operations.

Responsible

Completion of internal and external audit within statutory timeline

• Managing an end-to-end audit process of current systems – while acting as the first point of contact for external auditors.
• Working closely with auditors on the timeline of fieldwork and addressing/coordinating all queries that arises
• Reviewing of financial statements
• Coordinating sign off of audited financial statements
• Retaining current internal accounting policies and developing new ones as needed

Adhere to statutory tax compliance (i.e. GST & Corporate Tax)

• Conducting quarterly review of tax return, tax provision and annual tax filing
• Working closing with corporate tax team and tax agent for quarterly provision and annual returns filing
• Communicating with stakeholders on proper tax treatment

Adhere to tax reporting (i.e. Transfer pricing documentation, BEPS and etc)

• Ensure the tax reporting are filed on time and follow the benchmarking advised by tax team.
• Assist corporate tax team and support them in statutory tax reporting.

Monitoring day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, controlling and treasury functions

• Conducting monthly review of accounting schedules prepared by the team to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Providing advice to operation and team members on treatment of transactions
• Researching accounting issues for compliance with accounting standards
• Reviewing monthly closing activities

Driving continuous improvement of end-to-end accounting process to enhance efficiency and effectiveness

• Developing guidelines to address ambiguous process
• Identifying struggles that the team face and propose solution to increase productivity
• Explore ways to speed up and automate the accounting process without losing accuracy

Lead and mentor the members of the accounting team towards achievement of organizational / team goals

• Regular two-way communications with team members (Pulse Check)
• Driving the team towards continuous process improvements with a view of enhancing efficiency
• and productivity
• Promote teamwork particularly in exploring solutions to complex issues / situations.
• Develop the team members to be Business Partners for the organization ie. Value adding role

Educational Qualification / Professional Knowledge

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Professional qualification such as CPA or similar

Relevant Experience

• (Professional / Project / Leadership / Intercultural Experience, etc.)
• 5-8 years of progressive accounting experience with a portion of it being in a supervisory role
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, tax regulations, laws and any other compliance requirements
• Advance Microsoft Office skills
• Experience in SAP in manufacturing environment
